Your drawing experience can be minimal or professional level. By drawing, you are improving your skills and we all have our own unique style so let it out!
By drawing and painting in a sketchbook, you feel less afraid of making mistakes. Sketchbooks are to experiment in, make mistakes and try different styles. Let that inner child out and just enjoy drawing, painting and mark making.
There is no 'right' sketchbook either. A spiral cartridge paper sketchbook is a great basic however if you want to use watercolour, gouache and ink you will need to use a mixed media sketchbook. Mine all come in a range of square, portrait and landscape.
Then you need graphite pencils. Quality graphite pencils are a must and they do not cost much. You will want a HB, 2B and 4B minimum.
Mrs Red's favourites are the Staedtler Mars Lumograph. They feel like drawing with butter, they are so creamy and smooth! You can purchase them from the online shop and collect them in class.
